Holker Estate has a variety of services including a caravan park and even local property rentals but Holker Hall is most commonly known for the Holker Garden Festival.

Directions by car:

From Haverthwaite along the A590 you need to turn onto the B5278 which takes you right into Cark. However just before the village of Cark you will see the Main Holker Entrance on your right hand side.

From Lindale/Grange-over-Sands side of the A590 you need to follow signs for Grange-over-Sands then Flookburgh. Once in Flookburgh you need to bare to the right in order to travel to Cark. Go past Cark railway station and Engine Inn Pub then a short journey along the B5278 you will see Holker main entrance on your left hand side.

Directions by rail:

Cark has it's own dedicated railway station. From there you can get to Holker main entrance in around 10 minutes.

Parking:

There is parking for around 20 - 25 cars.

Cafe:

There is a popular cafe at the back of the garden centre which provides a variety of snacks and drinks at reasonable prices. There are also separate toilets next to the cafe.

Garden produce:

South Lakeland Nurseries provides various in season products such as bulbed plants, early vegetable pots and a variety of bedding plants at a good price as well as deals such as 3 plants for a £5.00 etc...

There are also fruit trees and shrubs in the out areas of the centre that are well located in sun traps.

Transport:

The Centre is a two minute walk from Cark railway station and for cars it is clearly visible when travelling past.

The Engine Inn pub currently a CAMRA rated pub for it's real ale, also serves a variety of food and offers specialist evenings such as flame grill evening. It's also provides accomodation typically priced at £65 - £80 per night.

The Rose & Crown situated within a stones throw also provides real ale and a variety of meals.

Both pubs also provide outdoor seating for those sunny days.

Transport and parking:

Neither pub offers much parking but nearby parking may be available. The Cark railway station is within walking distance for both pubs.

Cark Local park is located near Londis shop. Next to it there is also a small parking area and toilet facilities. The Park has some swings and picnic benches.

Cark Railway station is well linked with Ulverston, Dalton-in-Furness and Barrow-in-Furness one way and Grange-over-Sands, Arnside and Silverdale the other side due to the railway viaducts in each direction dramatically reducing travel time in either direction from Cark making it an ideal base to explore the southern coast of Cumbria via rail.

There are parking facilities and sheltered seating areas on both platforms.

There is also recycling services on the carpark.

Trains run on average every hour to hour and a half seven days per week.
