Coniston Lake

A full view of the expanse of lake with it's still water, lush surroundings and the jetty in the distance

A popular spot the lake is five miles long and half a mile wide. It has regular ferries around the lake on a solar-electric boat.

Visitors can walk around much of one end of the lake along tree sheltered paths, enjoy the calm water and look at the distant hills as well as the sheer size of Coniston Old Man as the back drop to one side of the lake.

Parking is available at the lakeside with toilet facilities. Benches and seating are setup along stretches of the lake.

If travelling along the A593 you will need to find Lake Road and follow this to the end.
